Identify the Characteristics of Danger Substances in Food

Harmful substances that can cause deadly diseases such as cancer can be found on the market children in school. What are dangerous substances, its properties when contained in food and what effect if your body is consuming it?

Formalin
Formalin is a solution that is not colored and the smell was terrible. In the formalin contained about 37% formaldehyde in water. Usually up to 15% methanol added as a preservative. This item is commonly used as adhesives for plywood and disinfectants for hospital equipment and for the preservation of dead bodies. Formalin is also strictly forbidden to be used for food preservatives.


Danger formalin inhalation, the skin and ingested, can cause burns, irritation of the respiratory tract, allergic reactions, and the danger of cancer in humans. If swallowed just as much as 2 tablespoons or 30 mL of formalin can cause death.

Borax

Borax is a crystalline compound, white, odorless and stable at temperatures normal. Borax pressure is a hazardous chemical compounds for food with the chemical name sodium tetrabonat (NaB4O7 10H2O). Can be found in solid and if dissolved in water will be sodium hydroxide and boric acid (H3BO3). Borax or boric acid is used as material for detergents, are antiseptic and reduces the hardness of the water. Hazardous materials are forbidden to use for food.


Borax hazard if inhaled, swallowed the skin and can cause respiratory tract irritation, skin irritation, eye irritation and kidney damage. If borax 50-10 grams ingested by children can cause shock and death.
